The Peel Student President’s Council is an independent youth led organization that works in harmony with the Peel District School Board to provide its students a multitude of leadership opportunities. The council was created in order to develop a strong line of communication between the students of Peel and the school board. The PSPC consists of 8 executive members in addition to the 2 student trustees the student body elect’s annually. The executive council alongside the Student Trustees act as liaisons between the board and the students.
The PSPC strives to develop student leaders within the Peel District by providing them with opportunities to get involved within their local community. We hold several different events throughout the year to help influence student leadership as well as help students to network, collaborate and learn from one another.
Every month, we have our General Meetings at the HJA Brown CentRE where students can come out to learn how to be stronger leaders, collaborate with other young leaders like themselves and network with tons of new people! The General Meetings are a great way to start getting involved with the PSPC.
Furthermore, We have our annual Spring Conference! The conference is usually a 2 night/3 day trip where delegates run through sessions such as Trust and Risk and learn how to become more well rounded individuals. The conference as a whole focuses on developing the crucial soft core skills which are needed for students to succeed worldwide.
Lastly, we have Peel Talks! This event was created to help each student express themselves. We encourage speakers to discuss what they are passionate about. If you are interested in becoming a speaker stay tuned for more information posted on our Peel Talks page under the opportunity tab !
The PSPC has existed for over a decade and we will continue to work hard to help develop powerful student leaders and help the different SACs to collaborate and work together to improve all the schools in Peel!
